POTABLE WATER (often called Domestic water, Drinking water, or Culinary water) is suitable for human consumption or use in the preparation of food.

Darco OcTank underground potable water storage systems can serve individual homes or entire subdivisions based on the storage capacity requirements.

The "Home Storage System" illustrated above incorporates 4000 gallons of storage and a submersible bottom suction relay pump which delivers water to the hydro-pneumatic pressure tank inside the dwelling served. Relay pumps may be submerged inside the tank itself, located in a remote wet well, in the basement of the building, or in a small pump house located above the tank. Choose the pump style and location which best fits your particular water system configuration

"Commercial / Industrial" applications often require higher pressure or flow than our internally mounted residential style pump can deliver.  In such cases, a wet well constructed of PVC pipe is installed adjacent to the storage tank and fitted with a higher horsepower center suction deep well style relay pump, as illustrated below. 

The "High Volume Community System" illustration incorporates several large fiberglass storage tanks manifolded together to feed a wet well located under the pump house. Water can be filtered or treated on the way to storage, detained for chlorine contact time, and then delivered into the community service piping. Large storage tank systems may also provide a low cost fire protection water supply for the fire department.  Trucks can draft directly from a properly sized manifold extension and hydrant located near the tank system.

In all 3 illustrations above, the Darco water supply vessels are out of sight under the ground; cool, secure, and frost free - no ugly above ground high profile structure to detract from near by real estate value, block the view, or attract vandalism.
